Thanks to a generous grant from Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Fire Safe Sonoma in conjunction with Healdsburg Fire Department and Fire Free Fitch will launch a chipper program for Fitch Mountain residents. The free chipper will be available in the Fitch Mountain area on Monday, October 27 and Monday, November 3, 2008. The purpose of the free chipper program is to encourage residents to create defensible space by making it easier to dispose of trimmings.
